BTC: Proof of Play – The Bitcoin Strategy Card Game

It’s a card game… about Bitcoin. (Yes, really.) But don’t worry – you don’t need a hardware wallet or a node to play.  You can jump in, build decks, battle, and unlock cards entirely at your own pace.

Earn Sparks and Shards just by playing, or, if you’re impatient like us, you can fast-track with Lightning payments in real Bitcoin – totally optional. BTC: Proof of Play isn’t pay-to-win; it’s play-to-stack, play-to-laugh, play-when-you-feel-like-it.

Important: BTC: Proof of Play does not use any real blockchain, wallets, NFTs, or background mining. There is no real compute, no GPU/CPU mining, and no on-chain activity. All “mining” is purely an in-game, fictional game mechanic.  It does however use the Bitcoin Lightning network to enable payments for items, cosmetics and gameplay items in Bitcoin. No wallet connection, simply QR codes. Simplicity!

So whether you’re here for the memes, the mechanics, or just to see what a “51% Attack” card does, welcome – the block is yours.

BTC: Proof of Play is a 1v1 Card Battler – Face off head-to-head in matches where every card you play can make (or break) your strategy. Build decks, outwit your opponent, and try not to blame “bad luck” when you lose.

You can create or join games with other players, jump straight into battle, or chill in the trading room where cards swap hands through safe escrow. Build, battle, or barter – it’s your choice.

The Mempool visualised realtime in the Hub

🔹 Blocks forming in real time – at the base of the Hub sits a shimmering chain. Every ~10 minutes (or whenever the network says so), the swirling sats condense, snap together, and forge into a new block that locks into the chain with a satisfying glow.

🔹 Live mempool feed – instead of being a simulation, the particle flow responds to the actual Bitcoin mempool. When transactions spike, you’ll see a flurry of sats raining down; when things calm, the drizzle slows.  Each sat particle carries data – vBytes, fee rate, or size – visualized through colour or brightness.

It’s a living visualization of the Bitcoin heartbeat – every sat that trickles, every block that locks – directly streamed from the chain into the Hub, so you don’t just play BTC: Proof of Play in a Bitcoin-themed world… you feel Bitcoin itself ticking in the background.

In BTC: Proof of Play, the Hub doesn’t just show Bitcoin – it uses Bitcoin.

While the vSats rain down in the background and new blocks forge into the chain, players can zap tips in real sats to each other right inside the game.  Drop a Lightning bolt mid-match to say “nice play,” support your opponent, or just flex your stack. Every tip flows across the same network you’re watching in the Hub – the Bitcoin mempool you see is the Bitcoin you’re using.

And when you’re ready to expand your collection? Head to the shop and spend sats to unlock new items instantly, or earn Sparks and Shards through play if you’d rather grind it out.  The choice is yours – play for free at your own pace, or Lightning-fast-track with real Bitcoin.

BTC: Proof of Play isn’t pay-to-win – it’s play-your-way, with sats woven into the fabric of the game itself.

Features

✔️ Deck Building, Bitcoin Style – Craft 30-card decks from your collection, mix strategies, and outwit your opponent:

Build your deck like a true Bitcoiner: with conviction, stubbornness, and an arbitrary 30-card limit. You’ll get starter cards, then unlock, burn, and tweak your deck until it feels “perfect”… before immediately blaming bad draws for your losses.

✔️ Earn or Zap – Unlock cards and rewards by playing… or fast-track with optional Lightning payments in real Bitcoin:

You can earn Sparks and Shards the slow and steady way… or zap in via Lightning and unlock stuff instantly. Your choice. We won’t judge (we probably will, but quietly).

✔️ Mining System – Send blocks off to “mine” new rewards. Wait it out, speed it up, or unlock new mining lanes for more loot:

Why wait for real blocks when you can mine card packs? Send your little blocky miners off, then forget about them for days until they ping you with new loot. It’s like Proof-of-Patience.

✔️ Lane Unlocks – Choose your path after each mined block. One lane is free, others can be unlocked for even greater rewards:

Unlock mining lanes, follow neon arrows, and make choices about which path to take. One is free, the others are definitely not — unless you’ve been stacking unlocks.

✔️ Chainable Cards – Play compatible cards side-by-side to trigger unique bonuses and linked effects:

Place certain cards side-by-side and watch them link up like Lightning channels on steroids. They buff each other and make you feel like a genius… until they both get destroyed in one turn.

✔️ Shields, Heals & Overkill – Protect your sats with shields, heal allies, and enjoy bonus hashrate for smashing through defences:

Protect your sats with bubble-wrap shields, heal your cards like a desperate node operator, and enjoy the thrill of “overkill” bonuses (because if you’re gonna smash, you might as well smash hard).

✔️ Card Skins – Customize your cards with special skins. Cosmetic only, but they look great while you’re losing:

Don’t like the standard look? Slap a new skin on your cards. It’s cosmetic, yes. It’s flexing, absolutely. Will it win you games? No. But will you feel cooler? Undoubtedly.

✔️ Trade & Burn – Trade cards safely with other players or burn duplicates for Sparks and Shards:

Trade with other players in the safe confines of escrow (because trust, but verify). Or, if duplicates are piling up, torch them for Sparks/Shards. Yes, burning cards is fun. We made it too satisfying.

✔️ Progression & Rewards – Earn XP, level up, and stack Sparks/Shards to expand your collection over time:

Play enough games and you’ll eventually unlock that shiny card you’ve been eyeing, or level up just in time to lose to someone with the exact same deck. Slow? Sure. Satisfying? Absolutely. Think of it like dollar-cost averaging, but with memes and trading cards.

✔️ Play Your WayBTC: Proof of Play isn’t pay-to-win. Play casually, grind daily, or Lightning-zap your way ahead. The choice is yours:

You can grind daily like a true Proof-of-Work purist, log in casually once a week and still make progress, or just zap through with Lightning if patience isn’t your strong suit. Whether you’re a slow-and-steady hodler or an impulsive ape, the game bends to your pace – no shame, no judgment… well, maybe a little judgment.
